SRM Institute of Science and Technology or SRMIST, formerly SRM University, is a private deemed university, located in Kattankulathur, Chengalpattu near Chennai.
Founded in 1985 as SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur, it gained the deemed status in 2002. SRM Institute of Science and Technology includes six campuses, four in Tamil Nadu — Kattankulathur, Ramapuram and Vadapalani, and Tiruchirappalli, one in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh and one in NCR Delhi.

SRM Institute of Science and Technology course admission 2024 is ongoing. The admission is entrance-based for most of the courses. SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST), formerly known as SRM University accepts national-level entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, TANCET, NATA, etc. for admission to MBA, BArch, and other courses. SRM University admission to courses like BTech and MTech is also through the entrance exams like SRMJEEE, SRMJEEM, etc, which are conducted by the university.

Step 1: SRM University Chennai Online Application Process 2024. Candidates need to apply online for all courses. Before applying, aspirants must check the required qualifications for admission to the desired course. Eligible students can visit the SRM IST official website (srmist.edu.in) to fill out the application form. The application fee is INR 1,200 for each course (as per past years' data). Moreover, the application form for the accepted entrance exams has to be filled out through the official website of the exam conducting bodies.
Step 2: Course-wise Selection Rounds. SRM University conducts its entrance exams like SRMJEEE, SRMJEEM and SRMJEEL for admission to some of the courses like MBA, BTech, BA LLB (Hons), etc. SRM also accepts national-level entrance exams. Further, the personal interview round is conducted for a few courses. The university releases a merit list with the names of the shortlisted aspirants.
Step 3: Counselling & Admission Confirmation. After the selection rounds, candidates get shortlisted for the particular programmes. Shortlisted candidates are called for counselling and document verification. For the exams conducted by SRM Chennai, candidates have to go through the respective counselling process, such as SRMJEEE e-Counselling, SRMJEEM Counselling, etc. Candidates need to pay a course fee to confirm their admission.
